Classic FM Breakfast with Aled Jones 6:30am - 9am
Over the next three nights, Jane Jones explores three sections of the symphony orchestra, picking out some fine music for woodwind, brass and, tonight, the strings.
Don’t miss Jacqueline du Pre’s legendary performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto and a beautiful arrangement for viola and orchestra of Kol Nidrei by Max Bruch. The violin is represented by Giuliano Carmignola in a performance of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in C major, and the double bass is celebrated too - thanks to Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf.
