Classic FM Chart: Hans Zimmer's score for 'Dunkirk' stays at no. 1 for a second week

For the second week since entering the chart, Hans Zimmer’s eerie score for Dunkirk is no. 1. Einaudi’s Islands also holds on to its no. 2 spot but is accompanied by three new entries the top ten. The first new entry is at no. 3 - Howard Shelley and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra playing Cipriani Potter’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and No. 4. - while John Sheppard’s Media Vita enters the chart at no. 4. Peaceful Piano is a non-mover at no. 5 and Game of Thrones: Season Six continues to climb the chart up to no. 6. The third new entry in the top ten this week is Royal Harpist Claire Jones’s new album This Love which enters the chart at no. 7. Meanwhile, the soundtrack for The Little Mermaid is up seven places from no. 16 to just inside the top ten at no. 9 with Einaudi’s Elements at no. 10. 

In the middle third of the chart, Karl Jenkin’s The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace re-enters at no. 12, while 2Cellos’s Score is this week’s highest climber, jumping nine places from no. 25 to no. 16. The lower third of the chart sees the fourth new entry this week, Marc-Andre Hamelin’s For Bunita Marcus, entering the chart at no. 21, accompanied by a further three re-entries: Hans Zimmer’s The Classics, Elgar’s Symphony No. 2 conducted by Daniel Barenboim and Anne Dudley’s soundtrack for Poldark. Finally, there are several big fallers this week, including War for the Planet of the Apes, down nineteen places from no. 3 to no. 22; Carly Paoli’s Singing My Dreams, down sixteen places from no. 7 to no. 23; Spiderman: Homecoming, down fourteen places from no. 10 to no. 24; and finally Max Richter’s Three Worlds: Music From Woolf Works down eleven places from no. 14 and no. 25.
