This pianist is adding extended harmony to videos of rapper Cardi B talking about her Ugg boots, and we are here for it forever-and-ever-amen.
Charles Cornell, a jazz pianist from Denver, Colorado, is responsible for some of the most hilarious videos in the internet.
His accompaniment for a video of Cardi B talking about Ugg boots was the first to go viral, racking up over 200,000 views on Instagram (watch above).
The video is just one in a whole series Charles has uploaded, featuring himself seamlessly accompanying celebrities talking, including vlogger James Charles’ apology to Tati Westbrook, and DJ Khaled talking about how great he is at handling his own success. Sure.
Cornell told BuzzFeed: “I came across a video that I thought was particularly funny, and remembered the concept of transcribing the notes of spoken word and putting them to music.”
He finds some videos work better than others. “Cardi B, for example, works so well because she speaks in a sing-song, rhythmic manner. This creates natural cadences in her voice that make my job much easier!”
Cornell has also soundtracked a video of the “Cash me outside how bout dat” girl talking on Dr Phil, as well as lending his own voice to an accompaniment of Donald Trump’s tweet about ‘negative press covfefe’. He’s even done everyone’s favourite viral ‘And I oop-’ video.
Charles, keep doing what you're doing. You’re awesome. (P.S. his new album Tales is out on 7 July this year!)
