MAN SINGS AT PARK, CROWD JOINS IN BON JOVI SONG
When a man sitting alone on a park bench started belting out the words to a Bon Jovi rock classic, little did he know it would turn into a mass singalong...
As the opening of Mark Twain’s famous maxim goes, “Sing like no one is listening...” – and for one man sitting alone on a park bench, that was certainly the case.
In the video (watch above), we see the gent seated on a park bench, and it’s not long before he starts belting out the words to Bon Jovi’s rock hit, ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’.
Several groups of park-goers are nearby, but the man remains unfazed as he sings (with gusto): “Gina works the diner all day!”
It can be all too tempting to ignore strangers in public, most of us preferring not to be disturbed from our planned pursuits – but the way this unsuspecting crowd handled the musical outburst has warmed our cockles.
A few bars into the well known tune and numerous voices can be heard joining in with the rock fan: “Ohhhh we’re halfway there, ohhhhh livin’ on a prayer!”
Originally released in 1986, the chart-topping song featured on Bon Jovi’s third album, Slippery When Wet, and gave the band their first No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.
Decades later, it’s still going strong and was the perfect source of inspiration for this man’s impromptu concert, which took place in a park near London’s Embankment station.
