Cher’s voice is majestic as heck in her rendition of ABBA’s ‘Fernando’ in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. She’s fabulous, and we don’t deserve her.

Cher appears pretty near the end of the film to play the role of Sophie’s grandmother, and the late Donna Sheridan’s mother.
But, crucially, her appearance as Ruby Sheridan is (expertly) engineered to make her sing the brilliant ABBA hit ‘Fernando’.
Cher’s deep contralto vocals are perfectly suited to the song. She might be 72, but her storytelling abilities are still top-of-the-game, and she has one heck of a belt on her.
Her duet partner Andy Garcia, who played Fernando himself, told Vulture: “It’s a very emotional song when you think about it. You’re seeing your lost love again after many years. You had given up all hope to ever see her again, let alone be in love again. That’s very deep stuff. It was sublime.”
*cries hysterically*
