There's nothing like a hefty bass line to propel the music along - especially when the music is Mussorgsky's Night on the Bare Mountain! Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
In smaller concert halls, classical music isn't often amplified, but when 30,000 are enjoying a picnic in the park, it's important everyone can hear - and have a good catch up with the family, of course. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
The bow tie's off, which can only mean one thing: it's time for something a little jazzier as the evening draws to a close. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta

And they're off! Not only was the music wonderful, but the concert was topped off with an incredible fireworks display as Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture filled the park. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
Tchaikovsky pulled out all the stops as far as the bombastic 1812 Overture is concerned - so it seemed only appropriate to fill the sky with elaborate fireworks. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
Sitting at the back wasn't a disadvantage at the Darley Park concert, as the music was loud enough to hear and the view of the fireworks was second to none. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
Anyone who hadn't ever attended a classical concert is sure to be converted now after such an incredible display. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
A display to rival New Year's Eve celebrations, with the added bonus of a classical soundtrack. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
Of course, Derby's incredible annual concert wouldn't be the same without a spot of flag-waving and crowd singing, as everyone joins together to sing Land of Hope and Glory. Photo: Gobinder Jhitta
