New Year’s Concert 2020 – Vienna Philharmonic

The annual New Year’s concert hosted by the Vienna Philharmonic returns for its 81st edition – with performances of waltzes, marches and polkas from the family of Johann Strauss and their contemporaries.
At the helm of the Philharmonic is Grammy Award-winning conductor Andris Nelsons – the current music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
Through this annual classical event, the Vienna Philharmonic not only strive to provide an evening filled with sensational music – but they also aim to send people all over the world a New Year’s greeting in the spirit of hope, friendship and peace.
The world-famous concert, which first began in 1939, was showcased to an audience of 50 million viewers and was broadcast in over 90 countries this year.

Tchaikovsky & Barber: Violin Concertos – Johan Dalene

Swedish violinist Johan Dalene has released his debut album, Tchaikovsky & Barber: Violin Concertos, where he is joined by the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Blendulf.
Dalene began playing the violin at the age of four, and went on to make his professional concerto debut just three years later.
Since then, he’s attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and won a number of competitions – including the coveted Carl Nielsen Competition.
