UnButtoned, a new series of events in Cardiff, will mix electronic landscapes with a live classical score performed by the chamber orchestra.
Billed as a 'playground for the senses', Sinfonia Cymru are aiming to bring classical music to a larger audience with their new concert series. The performances will feature a mixed ensemble of musicians performing solo and chamber works, building up to a one hour visual musical show.
Manager Sophie Lewis hopes the dynamic players in the ensemble will attract wide range of music-lovers: "It’s not a concert in a nightclub, or a concert that starts a little bit later than normal, but an entirely new experience," she said. "It just so happens that classical music is at its core."
As well as the orchestral musicians, the project features collaborations with artists and DJs, including Chameleonic, Arc Vertiac, Tom Raybould and BAFTA Award-winning interactive design team Roughcollie. The first of three performances starts on Friday 6 September.
