Kayla St. Laurent, a five-year-old from Canada, has received a very special gift in her fight against cancer - a new violin and violin lessons.
The special gift was donated by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Atlantic Canada. Kayla has been suffering from cancer for the last year.
Kayla's mother, Marie, said that the gift "means a lot to our family and it means a lot to her". She added that after the family were told of Kayla's condition, it wasn't clear if she would make it this far.
Watch the moment when she was given the violin on Global News:
She was presented with the violin by notable local musicians at a special event organised by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Kayla will also receive violin lessons in her hometown next year, as well as playing alongside a youth choir in Moncton, Canada.
When asked what it was that drew her to the violin, she simply responded: "I saw other ones playing it and I thought it was fun."
