Never mind Air on a G string; this is HAIR on a G string - and it's sounding pretty good…
A violin quartet from the Philippines used human hair in their bows to promote a new brand of shampoo and conditioner. Bowmaker Paul Goh swapped traditional horse hair - known for its strength - for human hair washed and conditioned with Cream Silk to prove its strengthening qualities.
The human hair quartet played a 240 minute set, performing 40 songs at a busy shopping mall in Manila. After performing for more than 600 people, the quartet reported no breakage on the hair in their bows.
"I didn't know this is what strong hair can do - that it can play music!" said Ria, one of the four violinists, with a fellow performer describing it as 'super awesome'.
