Classic FM nominated for Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards

Wynne Evans' Guide to Opera and The Sound of Classic FM have each picked up nominations at this year's Arqiva Radio Awards.

The 2013 Arqiva Commercial Radio awards were announced this morning, with Classic FM picking up two nominations. Classic FM presenter and star tenor Wynne Evans is nominated for the Single Programme or Broadcast of the Year for Wynne Evans' Guide to Opera, two special programmes exploring the genre. The Sound of Classic FM - the recognisable jingle composed by David Arnold - is up for the Station Imaging Award.

Wynne said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be up for a nomination, and delighted to be working with Classic FM - and talking about opera too! Hopefully I'll coming back into the studio in the not too distant future…"

The awards, in their 18th year, recognise the successes in the world of commercial radio. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 3 July in London.
