The world's biggest ever YouTube sensation gets a classical makeover as a group of Chinese violinists perform a cover of PSY's 'Gangnam Style'.
The classical world has paid tribute to one of 2012's biggest musical events - PSY's Gangnam Style. A group of violinists in Beijing have performed a classical cover version of the YouTube record-breaking K-pop song on Chinese television.
The concert, which took place on Saturday night, featured an ensemble of three violinists performing the song to a rapturous audience. They were accompanied by a pianist, dancers and an elaborate disco light show.
Other works played by the ensemble during the concert included music from Schindler's List and Pirates of the Caribbean.
'Gangnam Style' broke internet records on 21st December when it became the first YouTube video to have been viewed over 1 billion times.
