Beethoven, Brahms & Mozart – Grigory Sokolov
Deutsche Grammophon
It’s been three years since his last release, and now Russian pianist Grigory Sokolov returns with an album filled with fantastic live recordings from his tour last summer.
“Music made in the present moment, unique and unrepeatable is all that matters”, Sokolov’s biography page reads.
His newly released double-album features works from Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart, along with encores by Schubert, Rameau and Debussy.
Among the series of rich recordings is a live performance of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 3 and Bagatelles, and Brahms’ autumnal piano pieces.
