His Majesty The King has revealed his New Year Honours for 2025, and two Classic FM presenters have been named in the prestigious annual list.

Alan Titchmarsh, TV broadcaster, horticulturalist and host of Saturday afternoons on Classic FM, is made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to horticulture and charity. He said telling his wife and daughters about the honour was a “teary moment”.

Myleene Klass, musician, TV presenter and host of Calm Classics on Friday and Saturday nights on Classic FM, has been made Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to women’s health, miscarriage awareness and charity.

Having been an ambassador for Save the Children for over a decade, Myleene became an ambassador in 2023 for Tommy’s, the largest UK pregnancy and baby loss charity. She has since used her profile to campaign for women in the UK to receive better support after baby loss, a law which has now been passed.

Many musicians have been honoured for services to music.

Dr. Linley Hamilton, Ireland’s foremost trumpeter for the last two decades, and Michael Harris, organist and Master of the Music at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, are made MBE for services to music and the music industry.

Caroline Lusher, who founded the much-loved Rock Choir, is also named MBE for services to music and charity.

Professor John Harle of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama is made OBE for services to music.

Three musicians are named Medallists of the Order of the British Empire, Pipe Major Christopher Armstrong for services to music, Paula Klein for services to young people in classical music in Northern Ireland, and accompanist Richard Parry for services to music and choral singing.

Other recipients honoured in His Majesty’s 2024 list include actor Stephen Fry, former England manager Gareth Southgate and London mayor Sadiq Khan who have all been knighted.

Japanese-born British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, critically acclaimed author of The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, is made a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour for services to literature.

Congratulations to all those honoured today.
