The range of human hearing is usually quoted as being at 20Hz to 20kHz (that’s 20,000Hz).

But in practise, hearing starts to deteriorate as early as eight years old, cutting out the lowest and highest ends of the range.

For comparison, dogs’ hearing range is around 67H-45kHz while some bats can hear sounds as high as 200kHz.
