Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Gareth Malone, MILOŠ, Alma Deutscher and Russell Watson have been nominated in the Best Classical Artist category.
Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, choirmaster Gareth Malone, and guitarist MILOŠ have been nominated for Best Classical Artist in the Global Awards 2020 with very.co.uk.
Also shortlisted for the award are composer and pianist Alma Deutscher and singer Russell Watson, who will also perform on the night.
The Best Classical Artist category is publicly voted.
As well as shortlisted classical nominees, Global today (5 February) reveals the shortlists for the other categories in The Global Awards 2020 with Very.co.uk.
The public and a panel of industry experts voted for their favourite artists across genres in a host of popular categories to create the shortlist.
The awards bring together all Global’s radio stations including Classic FM, Smooth, Gold, Heart, Radio X, Capital, Capital XTRA and LBC, to celebrate the biggest stars of music, news and entertainment across a wide range of genres. The categories reflect the music, programmes, podcasts and news aired on Global’s radio stations and the Global Player app.

After a huge year, 23-year-old Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi joins one of the biggest selling artists on the planet, Ed Sheeran in receiving the most Global Awards nominations. Both are nominated in the Best Male, Best British Act, Best Mass Appeal Artist and Best Song of 2019 categories respectively.
Canadian singer-songwriter, Shawn Mendes is also among the second most nominated artists. He receives nominations for Best Male, Best Pop and Best Song of 2019 for ‘Señorita’ with Camila Cabello.

Aled Jones and Russell Watson have been announced among the performers at this year’s ceremony. Both singers were nominated in the Best Classical Artist longlist category.
Taking place on Thursday, March 5 at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo, this year’s Global Awards will also feature performances from Ellie Goulding, Tones and I, and Best British Act nominee Aitch.
