The Wexford Festival Opera, Ireland is taking place from the 23rd October – 3rd November. With over 58 events to choose from, there is something for everyone.
Wexford prides itself in bringing new life to unjustly neglected operas, introducing artists and audiences to forgotten masterpieces and providing an invaluable international platform for emerging talent, and this year is no different.
2013 will see the 62nd Wexford Festival Opera take over the community yet again with enthusiasm and activity:
Running for 12 days from Wednesday, 23 October until Sunday, 3 November, this year’s programme includes 3 mainstage operas beginning with Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze (The Florentine Straw Hat) by Nino Rota, a double bill of Thérese/La Navarraise by Jules Massenet and Cristina, Regina di Svezia by Jacopo Foroni, plus four afternoon ShortWorks, recitals, lunchtime concerts and orchestral concerts. In addition, a vibrant Fringe Festival offers a variety of events from art exhibitions through to singing and swinging pubs.
