The Classic BRIT Awards nominations for 2013 have been announced at a launch event, with several artists scoring double nominations. The awards ceremony itself, to be hosted by Classic FM's Myleene Klass, will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on October 2nd.
Nicola Benedetti is nominated for both the Female Artist of the Year and Classic FM Album of the Year awards, the first of which she has won twice before. It's the 10th time she has been nominated for a Classic BRIT.
Pianist Lang Lang, who has already confirmed that he will be performing at the Classic BRITs ceremony itself, is nominated in both the Male Artist and Classic FM Album of the Year categories.
The winner of the Classic FM Album of the Year award will be decided by a public vote, hosted by the Classic BRITs official site (click here to listen to excerpts and register your vote). You can find guides to each of the nominated albums here.
Elsewhere, tenors Joseph Calleja, Jonas Kaufmann and composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi are all also nominated for two awards each. Einaudi will be performing at the ceremony as well.
Film composer Hans Zimmer, who will be performing on the night, has already been announced as this year's recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, but he will also be duking it out in the coveted Composer category alongside Einaudi and Arvo Pärt.
Also performing on the night will be saxophonist Amy Dickson (pictured above with host Myleene Klass and trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth), who is nominated in the MasterCard Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. You can view the complete list of nominees below.
