A classical baritone who won successive choral scholarships, including to Trinity College, Cambridge, Armstrong has been singing since joining his school choir in his native Northumberland 40 years ago.

Armstrong said: "To describe myself as excited about this tour would be an almost criminal understatement - it is the realisation of a dream. I’ve spent nearly a lifetime singing and, after such a wonderfully diverse career in acting and comedy, I feel doubly blessed to be able to get out and sing to a wider audience. To perform on these hallowed stages, in front of live audiences, is what it is all about."

Featuring many of Armstrong’s favourite songs such as SummertimeA Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square and Londonderry AirA Year of Songs went to number 1 in the Classic FM Chart at the end of 2015.
