From fiendishly exposed entries in Brandenburg Concertos to cruel openings to Bruckner symphonies, the humble French horn has for centuries been unfairly given all the tricky lines, encouraging the all-too-embarrassing note split.
If the French horn wanted to fight back, this is the instrument to lead the charge: the contrabass French horn.
It sounds utterly mighty.
