Sometimes, you find a music teacher who stays with you for life. This heartfelt post, from pianist and presenter Myleene Klass, shows just how powerful that teacher-student relationship can be.
Myleene Klass has remembered her piano teacher in a heartfelt Instagram post, saying “I wouldn’t be where I am today without [her] love and guidance”.
She shared the post last night (20 October) alongside a photo of herself and Miss Dorothy Wright, who died last week.
Describing her as an “incredibly special lady”, Myleene dedicated her Classic FM show Smooth Classics to Miss Wright.

“I’d like to dedicate my show on @classicfm tonight to my piano teacher, Miss Dorothy ‘Babs’ Wright,” Myleene says in the post.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and guidance of this incredibly special lady.”
Highlighting the impact her music teacher had on her life and career, the pianist and Classic FM presenter added: “I will do my best to continue what you taught me, teaching my children and my friends’ children. #RIP Miss Wright.”
Myleene frequently shares videos of her children playing the piano and enjoying classical music.

It’s clear that Myleene has passed on her musical skills to her children – which we have no doubt she learned from the lovely Miss Wright.
