This is still hands-down the greatest orchestra prank in history

A truly smashing practical joke.
We’ve all had bad rehearsals. When you're trying to get that scherzo together, tempers and passions can run high. And you should never, ever take everyone's rehearsal time simply to practise your own part.
These things all came to inspire one of the greatest symphonic pranks we've seen, taking place at Middleton High School on April Fools Day 2010 and captured by Steve Kurr.
A cheap $80 violin was required, alongside a willing concertmaster and some top-notch acting from the orchestra's conductor.
