Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths, and Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger will be joined by Dave Stewart, ex-guitarist with The Eurythmics on the new Hans Zimmer score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
It follows the announcement that Pharrell Williams will also join Zimmer for the project following previous collaborations on Man of Steel and the music for the 84th Academy Awards Ceremony.
Directed by Marc Webb, the film is set to star Andrew Garfield in the lead role, after he made his debut in The Amazing Spider-Man. Zimmer, meanwhile, replaces James Horner, who wrote the score for the first film, released in 2012.
In a statement, Zimmer said: “Marc and I were talking about Spider-Man, and as the word got out, so many of our friends and musicians started calling us up, wanting to be a part of it, because they love Spider-Man.”
"That was the thing that united all of us – the great love for Spider-Man."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due to hit the big screen in May 2014.
