Stopford - Irish Blessing
A favourite hymn from a modern master of church choral music.
Philip Stopford began his musical career as a Chorister at Westminster Abbey. He studied music at Keble College, Oxford, where he began directing the Chapel Choir.
As choral director of St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast, Stopford recorded three albums. These days he devotes his time to composing choral pieces and conducting, and giving workshops around the world.
He has written a wide range of a capella and accompanied settings of traditional Latin and English prayers and hymns.
This touching modern version of the blessing, 'May the road rise to meet you' has become a favourite among church and other choirs in recent years.
