He wanted to spread the word, but  in doing so expanded  the potential of the instrument. His piano versions serve well as introductions to, or commentaries upon, the originals. I urge you to hear them in these truly great ’80s performances, for it will be many years before anyone matches Katsaris’s playing of these extraordinary scores.
