Karl Jenkins Motets competition launched with new work as prize

Composer Karl Jenkins will compose a brand new a cappella work for whichever choir wins a new competition, launched to coincide with the release of his new album, Motets.
The competition, organised by the composer's publisher Boosey & Hawkes, will be accepting entries from choirs via YouTube videos.
Jenkins will compose a brand new short a cappella choral piece for the winning choir. The choir will then have the opportunity to give the premiere performance of the work itself.

Entering choirs have to record a video of themselves singing a piece from Jenkins' new album and upload it to YouTube and post to social media with the hashtag #SingMotets. Entries are being accepted until December.
The competition has been kicked off by the Boosey & Hawkes team themselves, who recorded a version of Karl Jenkins' Ave Maria.
