Patrick Hawes On The Highgrove Suite

Classic FM’s Nick Bailey talks to our former composer-in-residence about the inspiration behind his wonderful new suite.

Commissioned by HRH The Prince Of Wales, Highgrove Suite is Patrick Hawes’ new four movement suite.

In a conversation with Nick Bailey, Patrick tells Classic FM about the commissioning process, his relationship with Prince Charles and the music’s appearance on an Alan Titchmarsh-fronted television documentary.

Inspired by the gardens at Highgrove House, Prince Charles’ home in Gloucestershire, the suite consists of four movements – Goddess of the Woods, The Wildflower Meadow, Sanctuary and The Gladiator.
