George Harliono is a terrifyingly talented young pianist. Here he is aged 11, impressing a crowd of fans with a Beethoven sonata.
In the summer of 2012, The City of London Festival – which sadly closed in 2016 – put out street pianos for people to enjoy all over the city.
This video shows George Harliono, a young pianist, playing a storming rendition of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 8 ‘Pathétique’ on one of the festival’s pianos outside the Tate Modern, to a crowd of delighted onlookers.
George, now 17, studies at The Royal College of Music, and was one of the youngest students ever to be accepted for a BMUS at the prestigious school.
He has also been awarded prizes around the world including The Grand Piano Competition in Moscow and Royal Overseas League Music Competition in London, and has recitals coming up at the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall in Japan, and the Philharmonie in Berlin.
What an incredible young pianist – find him on YouTube here.
