As one of the founder members and keyboard player of rock band Genesis, Tony Banks has gone from nascent beginnings on the vanguard of the British prog rock scene to playing stadiums as one of the world’s biggest bands.
In 2004, Tony revealed a new side to his musical endeavors with the release of his first classical album, Seven – A Suite For Orchestra. Released by Naxos and garnering much critical acclaim, it shifted the perception of the world-renowned rock star and garnered much critical acclaim.
On March 26, he’ll release his second, Six – Pieces for Orchestra, and we’ll be debuting one of the tracks on Alan Titchmarsh’s show tomorrow (18 February 2011). So excited were we by the premiere, we thought we’d chat to Tony about what to expect.
