Wynne Evans to release new album in October

Wynne Evans is to release a new album of vocal classics through Classic FM, one of which will be given its premier radio play on John Suchet's show today.

The album, simply entitled Wynne, features a mix of Neapolitan songs and operatic arias, as well as one or two Welsh songs to reflect his proud heritage.

John Suchet will have the premier play of 'Nella Fantasia' from the album on today's show after 12pm.

Songs on the 12-track album include 'The Impossible Dream', 'Nella Fantasia' and 'Shenandoah', alongside songs from around the British Isles like 'Myfanwy' and 'My Love Is Like a Red Red Rose'.

A busy and glittering career in opera houses all over the world for Evans eventually led to him becoming the face of the GoCompare adverts as the popular character Gio Compario.

Wynne is also a popular voice as a presenter on Classic FM, having presented The Wynne Evans Guide to Opera, which was nominated for an Arqiva award earlier this year.
