Tasmin Little shares her experiences of playing magical music like Vaughan Williams' 'The Lark Ascending' - she's looking forward to playing it at our 20th birthday Classic FM Live concert
It's been a busy year for Tasmin Little, who has spent a lot of time performing music by Yorkshire-born Delius in his 150th anniversary year. Tonight she's playing music by Vaughan Williams, who also has a Yorkshire connection - he allegedly wrote The Lark Ascending at Crow Hill, Marsden Moor.
Speaking to Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau, she explained what it was like last time she performed Vaughan Williams' magical piece to a spellbound audience.
"I beat my record for how long the silence was - it was something like 30 seconds," she said. "There is something in a piece of music like that where the audience is all on the same wavelength. Nobody wants to break the spell."
