Steve Reich at London's Barbican

American composer Steve Reich is in the UK this weekend to bring his Reverberations festival to London’s Barbican.

Following his 70th birthday festival at the Barbican in 2006, they’ve invited him back for another festival to celebrate his huge influence on contemporary music and showcase some of the other pioneering composers.

Ahead of Reverberations Classic FM spoke to Steve Reich about musicians and composers that have inspired him, his views on how great art comes about and the relationship between classical and pop musicians.

Reverberations takes place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May at London’s Barbican.
