Well sung fun from the Samoan family act. John Suchet's Album of the Week, 24 November 2014.
Samoan brothers Pene and Amitai Pati, and their cousin Moses, are otherwise known as Sol3 Mio. The trio are already a recording sensation in New Zealand and now they launch their incredible voices in the UK with the release of this, their debut album.
The collection of traditional melodies and operatic favourites is tipped to become one of the biggest selling classical albums of the year – and it's not hard to hear why. The three are all born entertainers and their exuberant live performances have already been making waves in this country.
The boys' joking around in no way detracts from the fact that they all possess excellent operatic voices, which are put to good use on such tracks as 'Nessun Dorma' and the Pearl Fishers duet.
There's a couple of Christmas favourites thrown in for seasonal good measure, and some authentically Pacific versions of Yellow Bird and We are Samoa.
Lots of fun and very well sung.
