Royal Opera House's massive costume sale
The Royal Opera House has announced that it will sell more than 1500 costumes from past productions no longer in its repertoire, in a sale to support its future work.
Featured costumes range from Dior outfits from post-war Paris, to modern day suits for Cosi fan tutte. Many of them have been worn by the finest international opera singers, including Gerald Finley, Simon Keenlyside and Angela Kirschlager. The collection also includes pieces from The Royal Ballet’s 2002 production of The Sleeping Beauty.
The sale will take place at the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop in Purfleet, Essex, on Saturday 24 September and Sunday 25 September.
