Three pianists have been named as winners in the RNCM James Mottram International Piano Competition after a week of heats and concerts.
The James Mottram International Piano Competition has concluded, with two joint winners being selected in the senior category. Victoria Vassilenko and Hin Yat Tsang were deemed inseparable by judges, while YiLei Heo was awarded first prize in the junior category.
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Hannu Lintu accompanied all the finalists (three in each category) in concerto performances.
Chairman of the jury Graham Scott commented on the finalists themselves: "My huge thanks goes to them all, and to our distinguished jury members for their effort and enthusiasm which has been a real feature of the competition."
The final concert was recorded by Classic FM and will be broadcast on December 10th.
