Red Priest is an early music group with a difference. Made up of recorder player Piers Adams, violinist Adam Summerhayes, cellist Angela East and harpsichordist David Wright.
Red Priest was founded in 1997 and is surely the only early music groups to have been compared to the Rolling Stones…
The group is named after composer Vivaldi (who is said to have had red hair) and have performed around the world at festivals and concert halls including the Ravinia Festival, Moscow December Nights Festival and the Prague Spring Festival.
In 2008 the group launched its own record label, Red Priest Recordings. Their albums include ‘Handel in the Wind’, ‘Pirates of the Baroque’ and an all-Bach recording called ‘Johann, I’m Only Dancing’.
