Nitin Sawhney Teams Up With the LSO Young Performers
One of today’s most influential and versatile creative musical talents Nitin Sawhney and composer James MacMillan have arranged a special concert bringing together young performers from the London Symphony Orchestra, which will take place in the Barbican Hall this Friday 30th October.
The LSO On Track Youth Orchestra has been formed especially for this concert. All the young players are drawn from LSO’s ten partner boroughs across East London and have been selected by their Music Service to play in this special event.
Now in its fourth year, the LSO St Luke’s Fusion Orchestra is built around a wide range of instruments and musical styles. It fuses the spontaneity and improvisational nature of a jazz group or rock band with the scale and breadth of a symphony orchestra.
LSO Fusion Orchestra consists of youngsters from: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, City, Greenwich, Hackney, Havering, Islington, Lewisham, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest.
