Lindsey Stirling shares festive new music video

Christmas carol 'What Child Is This' is given a new spin by violinist Lindsey Stirling in her latest high-concept video.

American violinist Lindsey Stirling has released another high-concept music video, this time with a distinctly festive theme. In the new video, which has already been viewed over half a million times in three days, she plays a violin and piano arrangement of 'What Child Is This'.

As in previous videos, the location for this particular work is on the banks of a snowy river. Funereally clad, Stirling plays an instrumental version of the carol, which is based on the tune of 'Greensleeves'.

At the end of the video Stirling wishes fans a merry Christmas, as well as detailing some of her recent charity work. Other videos by Stirling have seen the violinist tackle music from Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera and video games like The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim.

Stirling will head to the UK for the first time as part of a European tour in January, including shows at The Garage in London and Oran Mor in Glasgow.
