Leif Ove Andsnes signs to Sony

Leif Ove Andsnes has announced he’s signed an exclusive deal with Sony Classical.

The famed Norwegian pianist will embark on recording the full cycle of Beethoven’s piano concertos with the label. The Mahler Chamber Orchestra will accompany the musician.

The recordings, Beethoven – A Journey, is a three-year recording and performing commitment that will see Piano Concertos No.1 & 3 released next year, Piano Concertos No. 2 & 4 released in 2013 and Piano Concerto No.5 and Choral Fantasy released in 2014.

“I feel privileged to be joining the Sony Classical roster”, said Ove Andsnes. “Beethoven’s music is for me both the most human and deeply spiritual music there is, and I can’t wait to see where the next years will lead me in working on these magnificent pieces”.
