British soprano Laura Wright set the world alight with her sensational voice to become one of the UK’s biggest-selling classical artists in 2011 with her debut album, 'The Last Rose'.
Now, as the first female singer since Katherine Jenkins to reach Number One in the Classical Chart. Laura looks set to follow up her incredible success in 2012. She has just completed a successful UK tour with acclaimed tenor Alfie Boe and has had the honour of becoming the first soprano to perform live at the Olympic Stadium.
She has a new album in the pipeline too. 'Glorious', which celebrates and commemorates The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. 'Glorious' will be released on 21 May, featuring a unique collection of great British songs, old and new including 'Jerusalem', 'I Vow to Thee, My Country' and 'Land of Hope And Glory'.
The album also features the newly composed song, 'Stronger As One', which Laura premiered at the Commonwealth Day Observance in Westminster Abbey on 12th March in front of representatives from all over the Commonwealth including The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, and the Duke of Edinburgh.
To add to that, the busy singing star is studying opera at the Royal College of Music and will be performing songs from her new album at Classic FM Live on Thursday 19th April.
