Pianist Lang Lang will perform with heavy metal legends Metallica at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony, it has been announced.
The Chinese pianist last performed at the annual ceremony in 2008, but this time he will be collaborating in performance with the hard rock stalwarts, who themselves last performed at the ceremony in 1991.
Speculating on what they might perform at the ceremony, Lang Lang tweeted:
.@Metallica "Ride the Lightning" or Liszt? Flip for it? :) I've been practicing my finger-tapping. #GRAMMYs

Currently there are no other clues as to what the artists might really be playing on the night. Lang Lang is not nominated for an award this year, but Metallica will be competing for the best recording package award for their soundtrack to their own movie, Metallica Through The Never.
The ceremony will take place on January 26th in LA's Staples Centre, where other performers will include Katy Perry, Lorde and Daft Punk, who will perform with Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams.
