Lang Lang to give free concert in London
Lang Lang will give a free concert in London on Monday July 25, as part of the iTunes Festival London 2011.
The star pianist has been selected as the classical star of the fifth annual iTunes Festival, joining a line-up of 61 other artists from a variety of genres over 31 nights at the Roundhouse.
Lang Lang commented on the concert: "When I was invited by the iTunes festival to perform a recital with music by Franz Liszt at London's Roundhouse I did not hesitate for a second. Born in 1811, Franz Liszt was the first pop star in music history. Playing a selection of his most famous pieces in a true Rock and Pop venue on July 25 will be a unique experience and a wonderful way to celebrate my piano hero's 200th anniversary."
Tickets for the iTunes Festival are free and allocated by prize draw. We’ll have tickets available for Classic FM listeners - check back soon for the competition.
