Bringing plenty of festive cheer to the Classic FM roof terrace, the King's Singers popped in to talk to Jamie Crick about their favourite musical winter warmers, and gave an intimate performance of Christmas favourite, Little Drummer Boy.
It's not every day you'll hear one of the world's best oboists performing with a stunning a cappella vocal group. But, since it's Christmas, Albrecht Mayer and the King's Singers have come together for a particularly festive collaboration.
Combining cheery Christmas classics with a few winter musical favourites, David, Timothy, Paul, Christopher, Christopher and Johnathan popped in to share the magic behind their festive album with Classic FM's Jamie Crick. Baritone Chris Bruerton explained the logic behind the unusual partnership with Albrecht: "As a former singer himself, in a way, he sings through the oboe and fits in with us as well as anyone could," he said. "He's like a seventh member!"
As well as explaining their hectic winter schedule, the King's Singers even found the time to serenade us with an exclusive carol performance.
