Hayley Westenra engagement confirmed

New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra is engaged to her long-term partner Arnaud Sabard, it has been confirmed.

The news was confirmed by Hayley's father Gerald Westenra after reports had emerged that Arnaud Sabard proposed to the 24-year-old singer while on holiday in New Zealand.

Gerald Westenra told the New Zealand Herald both families were delighted with the news: "We're very excited. [Hayley] didn't want to leave the country until she had that ring."

There is no confirmed date for the wedding yet, though Hayley's father suggested that the wedding would definitely take place in New Zealand.

Hayley has recently returned to London and is due to begin her UK Paradiso tour at the end of the month, starting in Gateshead on 29th February before performing in Rhyl, Northampton, Manchester, Southend and Bournemouth in March.
