Violinist David Garrett and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger collaborate in an impressive new classical song, Io Ti Penso Amore.
It might sound like a surprising partnership, but the star violinist is joining forces with a singer best known for her pop vocals on his new album, Garrett vs. Paganini. Scherzinger shows off her soprano voice, singing up to a top C sharp, accompanied by Garrett's virtuosic violin playing.
Garrett said: "I heard Nicole Scherzinger sing Music of the Night by Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Royal Variety Show in Manchester, in 2011. When it came to picking a candidate to sing 'Io ti penso', I immediately thought of her. She has such a versatile voice, ranging from pop to musicals to classical. For me it was important to find a singer who can sing both the lower and the upper register. Even with great singers, it's not always the case."
The music will feature on the upcoming film, The Devil's Violinist, which comes out on 31 October. Garrett makes his acting debut, starring as virtuoso violinist Paganini.
