John's CD of the week: Daniel Hope - The Romantic Violin

7 March: On Monday, Deutsche Grammophon releases this new album from British violinist Daniel Hope – and all week, John Suchet will be profiling it as his CD of the Week.

It’s a beautiful collection of much-loved music from the Romantic period, including Bruch’s famous Violin Concerto No.1 – performed in its entirety.

Hope is accompanied by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Sakari Oramo, and is also joined by pianist Sebastian Knauer for some delightful chamber pieces.
