Brooklyn Rider popped into Classic FM to give us a breathless, turned-up-to-11 performance of 'Ascending Bird', a traditional Persian tune arranged for string quartet by BR violinist Colin Jacobsen.
The four-piece, completed by violinist Johnny Gandelsman, cellist Eric Jacobsen and violist Nicholas Cords, were in London to play some special shows at Wigmore Hall, but they found time to show us exactly why their live shows are such a hot ticket.
On record, too, they've got a lot to shout about just now. They've just launched their very own Kickstarter fundraising campaign to produce their 'Almanac' project, a multimedia extravaganza that will comprise an album of new compositions by composers from the rock and jazz worlds, as well as various artworks.
With a $40,000 target to reach to make the Almanac a reality, the quartet are out on the road to spread the word and inch closer to the total. You can donate here and visit their website here.
Why Brooklyn Rider are unlike any other string quartet on the planet
