A superb collection from a brilliant young pianist. John Suchet's Album of the Week, 4 August 2014.
The award-winning pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, still only 22, signed to Decca Classics in 2011, becoming the youngest British musician ever to sign to the company, and the first British pianist in almost 60 years. His second solo album for Decca is an outstanding collection of pieces, all inspired by dances of many different kinds.
This album came in at No.1 in Classic FM's Album of the Year 2014. See the full chart here >
There’s everything from Bach to Boogie Woogie, via Chopin, Granados, Scriabin, Albeniz and a trip down the Blue Danube.
Here Grosvenor brings all of his virtuosic brilliance and musical intelligence to a wide-ranging and very attractive selection of pieces, all immaculately played and crisply recorded.
