This Friday Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is in London at the O2 for the start of a major concert tour that will take him to Dublin and Manchester next week, then the USA and Germany.
Speaking to Classic FM's Anne-Marie Minhall, Bocelli explains that routine is the key to coping with such a gruelling programme, saying "My preparation is rather like that of an athlete."
Bocelli also talks about his book, which will be available in English very soon: "I like to write. It is my second favourite activity after singing. Through this story I was gven an opportunity to express my opinions, to give voice to my values."
And with such a busy schedule ahead - what plans does he have for Christmas? "I will be at home with my family around me. The best Christmas present is to be close to the people you love."
