André Rieu new concert DVD with Anthony Hopkins

'Under The Stars' is the latest live DVD from the hugely popular André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, released on September 10th.
André Rieu is to release his latest live DVD on September 10th, entitled 'Under The Stars'. Record live at an open-air concert in Maastricht (for the fifth time in Rieu's career), the concert features the Johann Strauss Orchestra and a host of guest stars.
The Harlem Gospel Choir, the Soweto Gospel Choir and even actor/composer Sir Anthony Hopkins all make an appearance. Hopkins composed the piece 'And The Waltz Goes On' specifically for Rieu.
Other works performed include 'Seventy Six Trombones', 'Nessun Dorma' and even 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' from Mary Poppins, which features soprano Mirusia Louwerse flying over the audience. You can find a tracklisting of the DVD here.
Rieu is due to bring his travelling show to the UK in December, when he and his orchestra will play the Manchester Arena. Before then, he will be performing at the Classical BRIT Awards alongside a host of classical stars.
